Birds of a feather...

I loved the opportunity to photograph some birds, in the winter, with a great background and from the perfect location.  The only thing is, I'm not sure who's flock these feathers belong to!

While I enjoy watching and photographing birds, identifying each species isn't my forte. I had thought this was a finch but it seems it might possibly be a Dark Eyed Junco, which is a small, grayish sparrow, native to North America. So if you're looking at my photos and can absolutely identify this feathered friend - correctly, please let me know.
Thanks and enjoy!

A bird's eye view...

In the dead of winter, I was fortuante enough to get a blue-jay feasting on seeds. Bird watching is both relaxing and fun. More to come, another day...

Ice-olation...

Winter has served NJ up some frigid temps this January. Cold enough in fact, for the Delaware river to ice over in many areas. A frigid ride along Burlington and Florence river's edge, gave me a couple shots to share. Word of the day: FROZEN!
Enjoy from your warm computers!

Stop!...

and pay attention to all there is to be grateful for.

Life has no guarantees. There isn't always tomorrow and thoughts like 'there's still time' or 'maybe later' can become, wishes never to be granted, in the blink of an eye.

Stop and appreciate something ~ everyday.

Can you see what I see?...

Have you ever looked at objects around the house, or stared at a cloud, or a building and thought you could see a face in it?

There is actually a name for that and it's a psychological phenomenon known as pareidolia. Pareidolia is the tendency to to see or hear, a vague or random image or sound as something significant, like seeing shapes in clouds, or hearing hidden messages in music.

If this looks like fun and has you interested in seeing more, please let me know. In the meantime you can find countless blogs, Reddit and Flickr photos, Tumblrs, and hashtags dedicated to this fascinating phenomenon.

Golden slumber...

The Golden Girls as they are affectionately called, never left the side of their master when she was down and out with a nasty cold. Just too sweet to pass up but I did let sleeping dogs lie...
